Professional Background
Rodrigo has developed his career at several renowned firms—including one of the Big Four—before joining Skatt as a Partner. With more than 25 years of highly specialized experience in International Trade & Customs, he focuses his practice on customs consultancy, concentrating on the schemes and mechanisms that global companies now require for their cross-border trade with Mexico and third countries.
The rapid evolution of technology in recent years has enabled him to implement preventive, administrative, and compliance-control solutions through digital tools applied to foreign-trade operations—capabilities he has continually refined throughout his career.
Mexico’s heavily regulated import-export environment demands decisions grounded in deep practical knowledge of operational frameworks. Over the past 25 years Rodrigo has advised on IMMEX programs, global manufacturing (maquiladora) schemes and services, and he even coined the concept of the “customs compliance check-up.” His experience also covers certifications, free-trade agreements, and other critical customs matters.
